Magazines and Dressmaking Patterns

We stock Australian Stitches and Burda Magazines and can reserve any of these for you.  Just contact us with your details.  We also stock Burda and Kwik Sew Dressmaking Patterns.

Bernina and Bernette Accessories

As the dedicated local Bernina Sewing Centre for the North Shore and Central Auckland, we supply the latest Sewing Machines and Overlockers from Bernina as well as accessories for both new and older machines. This includes feet, needles, magnetic bobbin holders, magnetic pin holders, thread guides and thread stands. If we don't have it in stock, we can easily order it in. For machine embroiderers we have an extensive range of OESD Stabilisers including cut-away, hydro-stick, poly-mesh and aqua-film. If you would like to see the different stabilisers and understand when to use them come and see us in the shop.  We can also supply Embroidery design cards or CD's.

Beads, Sequins, Braids, Trims, Yarns, Angelina Fibres and Lace

Everything you need to embellish your project. From the basics such as bias binding and covered piping to a wide range of decorative and fashion trims. Cool cotton laces in creams and white to sizzling yarns. We also have the wonderful Angelina Fibre, which is such fun to work with. Plus glorious beads including Mill Hill seed beads and many more.

Buttons

The last time I counted we had over 1500 different types of buttons including crystal buttons from Swarovski.  Plus we have kilt pins and buckles.

Elastics and Velcro

Our elastic is sold off the card in and not pre-packaged. We do this so that you only have to buy the amount you need and also to minimise packaging - our small contribution to the environment. As well as various widths we stock our elastic in standard and non-roll formats. We also have specialist elastics such as clear, underwear and buttonhole - this last one is just great for maternity wear. We have both sew-on or stick-on Velcro, white or black, by length or in dots, great for fixing posters.

Knitters Delights

We are an agent for Woolmart Wools in our Takapuna Shop and stock their range of wool and patterns including Clan Stewart Perendale, baby wool and fashion yarns.  At our Dominion Road shop we buy our wool independently and have different yarns and colours to the stock in Takapuna as well as additional patterns. To compliment the wool and knitting patterns we stock knitting needles stitch holders and stitch counters in both shops.

Motifs and Flowers

We stock lots of motifs for decorating or covering up small holes, tears and marks. We have silk ribbon and organza flowers in lots of colours and sizes for embellishing. Swarovski crystal iron-on transfers give a special finishing touch.

Name Labels

Either you can purchase a kit with 30 iron on labels and marker pen, or you can order printed or woven name labels; these are ideal for school uniforms, aged care or adding a personalised touch to your finished work.

Craft Supplies

Including aida fabric, felt, glues, embroidery hoops and stands, floss boxes and floss cards, plastic canvas, magnifying glasses, bag handles, jewelry making accessories, beads, and DMC threads.  You could also treat yourself to a Daylight lamp to help you see better in the darker evenings.  

Quilting Fabric and Accessories

We have an extensive range of fabrics in store, many of which you can view on our on-line catalogue.  Along with the fabric we have many quilting accessories including cutting mats, rulers, cutters, spare blades, template plastic, Vlisofix, Steam a Seam, Iron on Pellon and the new Clover range of quilting and patchwork notions including mesh transfer canvas, tape makers, and the Clover mini iron.

Ribbon

Looking for Taffeta or Satin ribbons? Our range is huge as we stock most colours and most sizes. Plus we have organza ribbon in over 30 colours plus a wide variety of decorative ribbons.

Shoulder Pads

These come in white, black and skin. They are available as Sew-in or Velcro-fixed. We also have bra cups, bikini clasps, sliders, bra strapping and dress shields.

Threads

We specifically choose to stock high quality ranges of threads as it is so important to use good quality threads in your sewing machine and overlocker.  Most of the threads listed below can be ordered from our on-line catalogue.

• Metrosene - 100% Polyester - ideal for all kinds of fabrics including cottons, synthetics, mixed fabrics, linen or silk. We sell all purpose, extra strong and top stitching cordonnet. Check out the Mettler Metrosene colour card (PDF format).

• Metrocor - a perfect thread for overlocking. Try Metrolene or Serafil for lightweight fabrics. It's semi-transparent so will blend will all fabrics. A good tip is to use either dark or light Metrolene on the loopers on your overlocker and this will minimise the need to change your threads so often. Metroflock is a soft woolly nylon for very elastic seams in Lingerie and Athletic -wear, also ideal for decorative seams. Check out the Mettler Metrocor colour card (PDF format).

• Poly Sheen - a superior machine embroidery thread with a brilliant sheen, strong, colour fast and abrasion resistant. • Quilting Thread - 100% mercerized cotton for machine quilting. Check out the Mettler Quilting Thread colour card (PDF format).

• We also stock a selection of invisible thread for hand and machine sewing, linen thread and the complete range of Anchor embroidery threads.

• Madeira Super Twist Metallic Embroidery Thread, a texturised embroidery thread will be of interest to the creative embroiderer.

• Poly Neon from Madeira is a polyester embroidery thread, constructed of a specially developed raw material which eliminates looping, puckering and virtually all thread breaks. Suitable for almost any application, Polyneon´s unique formula makes this thread extremely durable and smooth running. Vibrant colors which are silky and luxurious.
